OSHA Log 300A Must Be Posted by February 1st
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires all businesses to display the 300A form from February 1, 2011 to April 30, 2011.
According to OSHA, "Employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthful workplace for their employees. OSHA's role is to assure the safety and health of America's workers by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health." Part of an employer's responsibility is to display the OSHA 300A log as well as the "OSHA-It's the Law Poster."
The OSHA 300A form shows the accidents of the previous year at the business. The requirement is intended to assist organizations in keeping track of the types of accidents that take place most frequently so they may better focus efforts on preventing similar events from occurring in the next year.
The prominent posting of the OSHA 300A form is required by law. Organizations found to be out of compliance may be subject to significant fines.
It is important for California employers to note that CAL OSHA also requires employers make public some workplace hazards not covered under the Federal OSHA standards.

We hope this reminder helps you keep on track with your compliance responsibilities. If you have any issues or questions, please do not hesitate to contact your HRPG representative.
